THE  ART  OF  ONODA  MINORU

ONODA MINORU/小野田實(1937-2008)

He was inspired by meaninglessness of an infinite number of readymade produced in automated factories. He published " A Theory of Propagation Painting" in 1961, and to exemplify those thoughts, started painting an infinite number of circles and lines referred to as "my circles". In 1965, he joined the Gutai group. Since the 2013 exhibition held at New York's Guggenheim Museum, he's been re-discovered and re-evaluated. Some of his paintings are in the collections of London's Tate Modern and other museums in Germany and the Netherlands.
